County Review 2014

Crowthorne District was recognised for its good work at the County Review today. On behalf of Sarah and Eleanor, there was a presentation given sharing photos and stories of their recent sailing trip with South West region, inspiring others to take part in similar events. Helen Whitsed (leader with 3rd Crowthorne Guides) was given a County Standard award and Sharon Webster (leader with 4th Crowthorne Guides) was presented with a Young Guiders award from Region.

The district was given a Certificate of Commendation for the following reasons:

Crowthorne District faced a time of uncertainty as they lost their meeting place at the same time as a restructuring of the Division was taking place. Without a District or Division Commissioner they managed to secure another building. They held an Open Afternoon in 2013 to which they invited Parents, Guides and Guiding friends with stalls, refreshments and crafts for the children. The afternoon was a demonstration of good team work and true Guiding spirit. The District are commended for the effort and achievement they have displayed.

Tracy Wilks (District Commissioner) says “Congratulations to Helen and Sharon and everyone in Crowthorne for an amazing 2013. You should be very proud.”
